Occupational health and Safety

It is the unit that was established to carry out occupational health and safety services in the workplace in accordance with the Law No. 6331 and regulations, and has the necessary equipment and personnel.

Mission:

To direct the development, dissemination and implementation of protective and preventive activities for occupational health and safety; to ensure that these studies and practices are carried out in accordance with the law.

Activity Flow:

In order to contribute to the creation of a healthy and safe working environment in the workplace;

• To convene the Occupational Health and Safety Board formed by the hospital management every month and to keep the meeting records.

• To apply to the Occupational Health and Safety Board in case of an urgent and vital danger that will impair the health of the employees and other employees or endanger their bodily integrity in terms of OHS in the workplace.

• To carry out the necessary studies after the determination of the situation and the decision to take the necessary measures at the Board meeting,

• Organizing OHS employee trainings for at least 16 hours in the workplace for the establishment and continuation of a healthy and safe working environment for employees,

• Informing all personnel about the correct use of the personal protective equipment provided.

• To inform the employer about compliance with the rules, prohibitions and decisions and measures taken by the Occupational Health and Safety Board in order to protect and improve health and safety,

• To provide guidance on the use of safety equipment in the workplace, machinery, devices, tools, equipment, facilities and buildings in accordance with the rules,

• To provide guidance for a risk assessment at the workplace in terms of Occupational Health and Safety, every 2 (two) years at the latest.

• To identify risks on a departmental basis, to ensure that they are up-to-date and to keep records, as well as to prepare and implement a screening program for all personnel in line with the opinions of specialist physicians regarding these risks, and to keep records of health screening results.

• To provide guidance to the employer on the monitoring of the working environment, including all kinds of protective, preventive and corrective actions to be carried out against health and safety risks in the workplace, and to prepare and submit suggestions for approval,

• To carry out health surveillance to protect and improve the health of employees

• Making a plan about the occupational health and safety training and informing of the employees and presenting them to the employer's approval,

• To cooperate with other units, institutions and organizations related to the determination of emergency situations such as accidents, fires, natural disasters and the like, preparation of the emergency plan, organization of the practices to be done in terms of first aid and emergency response,

• To prepare OHS annual work plan, OHS annual evaluation report, OHS internal directive

• To record information and work results regarding the surveillance of the working environment, health surveillance of employees, work accident and occupational disease, and occupational health and safety,

• Keeping the work carried out by the employees, the results of the risk assessment at the workplace and the exposure information, the results of the employment and periodic health examination, the records of work accidents and occupational diseases, in the personal health files at the workplace, in compliance with the principle of confidentiality,

• To provide the necessary environment for the duties, authorities, responsibilities and training of workplace physicians and other health personnel to fulfill the duties specified in the areas they serve within the scope of the Regulation on Duties, Authorities, Responsibilities and Training of Occupational Safety Specialists

• To archive the records of the occupational health and safety training given to the employees, with the copies of the approved notebooks, annual work plan and annual evaluation report to be kept by the workplace doctor and the occupational safety specialist appointed by the employer to provide occupational health and safety services at the workplaces.
