Our hospital was founded in 1954 by Dr. It started to serve with Bunyat ARSAN on Istiklal Street. Between 1960-1962 it was managed by Dr.Burhanettin GÜRS. In 1962, Op. Between 1965 and 1968, Dr. Hamza KOPUZ, between 1968-1969 Dr. Mümtaz SERDENGEÇTİ, between 1969-1971, Dr. Sermet GÖK, between 1971-1972 Dr. Türesin ÇEHRELİ, between 1973-1979 Dr. Orhan KÖKSAL, between 1979-1985 Dr. Kemal BOZDEMİR, Dr. Yılmaz KEFELİ between 1985-1989, Dr.Aslan ÇINAR between 1990-1992, Dr.Aslan ÇINAR between 1992-1994. Mustafa ALTINIŞIK, Op.Dr.Mesut ÇOBAN between 1994-1997, Op.Dr.Celalettin AKYOL between 1997-1998, Op.Dr.Bayram GÜLASAN between 1998-2000, Dr.Ersin YILMAZ between 2000-2002, 2002 -Dr.Habib DEMIREL between 2007, and between 2007-2012 Op.Dr.Ahmet A.İSMAİLOĞLU served as chief physician. Between 2012-2013, Dr. Dr.Hikmet TERECI served as the hospital manager of Dr.Yılmaz DUNDAR between 2013-2014. Between 2015-2017, Op.Dr.Mahmut ULUBAY served as chief physician. Since December 2017, Specialist Dr. Emine SEHMEN has been working as the chief physician.
Our hospital, which has a capacity of 250 beds in its establishment; In 2007, it reached a capacity of 750 beds, 78 outpatient clinics and 14 clinics. Our hospital, which has been serving with a bed capacity of 530 in 2008 within the scope of the patient room revision program, and with a bed capacity of 311 since 2012, has been serving with a bed capacity of 350 since 2021. Until 2005, Social Insurance Institution (SSK) Samsun Regional Hospital was serving only to the insured beneficiaries, and it was transferred to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, with the legal regulations regarding the gathering of the health system under a single roof, and was named Samsun Gazi State Hospital. Since 2005, many innovations have been implemented in terms of service delivery in our hospital, where an average of 5000-5500 patients apply daily. With services such as MRI, Computed Tomography, Bone Densitometry, Mammography, USG, imaging services, public relations and referral services, hospital information management system, our hospital strengthens its mission day by day and continues to offer innovative services. With the establishment of the PACS system in 2012, our physicians will be able to view and interpret radiological imaging over the internet. With the transition to the E-Prescription system, which was put into practice by our Ministry on 01.07.2012, on 15.01.2013, physicians started to enter patient medicines in electronic environment. As of 2022, our hospital within the scope of health services; 350 beds, 66 outpatient clinics, 8 bed capacity Coronary Intensive Care, 8 bed capacity Surgical Intensive Care, 10 bed capacity Internal Intensive Care, 12 bed capacity General Intensive Care-1, 8 bed capacity General Intensive Care-2 and 16 beds opened in 2022. It provides service with General Intensive Care-3 units with a bed capacity. Specialty health services continue to be provided with the Hemodialysis Unit, Home Health Services, Nuclear Medicine Unit, and Community Mental Health Center. Our patients who want to apply to our hospital to be examined can make an appointment online with the Central Hospital Appointment System (MHRS) of the Ministry of Health or they can make appointments by phone with Alo 182. In our hospital, our patients can directly perform diagnosis and treatment procedures by choosing the specialist physician they want in the branch they want, with the Physician Selection Application. The results and reports of all x-rays, analyzes and other diagnostic tests of the patients are provided by directing them among the relevant units in the computer environment.
